BLACK ROSE SOCIETY – SERVER RULES

1. Respect Black Rose Society’s overseeing Board of Directors, referred to as the Directorate, and our Moderators. We want the Black Rose Society Discord community to be a safe haven for Vampyres, Black Swans and any individuals who are interested in our topics and are sympathetic to us. We will freely exclude or remove individuals who bear ill-intent towards the community or its members, or in any way make our members feel unsafe. Moderator actions will not be discussed or explained. Abuse will not be tolerated.

2. Treat each other with respect. Personal insults, attacks, or threats will not be tolerated. Absolutely no harassment. Do not make another member feel unsafe or uncomfortable due to unwanted sexual advances or unwanted sexual comments. Do not make another member feel unsafe or uncomfortable due to unwanted, hateful or disparaging comments in relation to their race, ethnicity, colour of skin, caste, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, disease or occupation. As soon as we become aware of any behaviour that might reasonably be considered sexual harassment or discriminatory harassment, we will remove the offender from our community.

3. No Fighting. Do not get into escalated arguments on our server. We ask you to deal with any individual disagreements in a discrete manner. Mediation can be provided when necessary.

4. Do not spam. Spamming, and any kind of advertisement or self-promotion (server invites, etc) without permission from the Directorate, is prohibited in Black Rose Society. Be advised that due to automatic anti-spam measures passing certain link and message thresholds may result in your account getting temporarily muted and if repeated may result in a kick or ban.

5. Do not post text, images or links featuring unwanted content. Unwanted content consists of anything that might conflict with Discord Guidelines, and includes, but is not limited to, sexually explicit content, graphic depiction of violence, depictions of animal cruelty, glorification of self-harm, political content and any content which is deliberately offensive or inflammatory.

6. Protect each other’s privacy. Do not disclose any personal information. Sharing personal information about other members, either directly or indirectly, without their permission – including, but not limited to, gender, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, ethnicity, national origin, religion, occupation and real-world location – is not allowed. Except for the purpose of reporting abuse or any violation of policies of Black Rose Society, the remote monitoring, posting or sharing of conversations without a participant’s consent are prohibited. Black Rose Society will not publish or otherwise disseminate your personal data.

7. Please respect that Black Rose Society deals with adult topics and is aimed at adults. Black Rose Society deals with mature subjects in a mature manner, and we expect our membership to be able to conduct themselves accordingly. Any person under the age of eighteen without the permission of their parent or legal guardian to view content labelled as intended for the age of eighteen and above are asked not to frequent our spaces.

8. Do not impersonate an individual or organization, or misrepresent yourself as someone you are not. Content or activity meant to impersonate an individual or organization is prohibited. Any attempts to misrepresent yourself as a representative of Black Rose Society, House Sauromatos, or any one of our partners will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

9. Black Rose Society is not interested in working with any journalists, or media workers. Our members are asked to politely ignore any requests by journalists or media workers.

10. Please leave your political affiliations at the door. Our Community Server is not the place to engage in political discussion of any kind or to discuss political events. Any attempts to intentionally circumvent this policy will not be tolerated.

11. Respect and follow protocol. To join Black Rose Society as a member you are required to read and follow our #welcome guide and read and agree to our #rules and #guidelines. For the purpose of learning more about our topics and what we are about, we highly advise you to read our #about. Any kind of questions pertaining to our community or our topics are welcome in our #support. Please refer to #support before directly messaging any of our Directorate members and moderators. Membership in Black Rose Society and access to our Community Server is only granted after the Directorate has reviewed your Introduction and decided on your membership. Respect the topics for each channel as outlined in our in #navigation.

12. By using Black Rose Society you agree to our rules, guidelines and policies. Our Rules, guidelines and policies are complementary to the ‘Discord Terms of Service’ and ‘Discord Community Guidelines’. Be advised that our rules, guidelines and policies may be subject to change without notice.

13. We trust you to use your best judgement in adhering to our rules and refer to our Moderators when necessary.

BLACK ROSE SOCIETY – GENERAL GUIDELINES

Intention

The following general guidelines have been set in place for all community spaces of Black Rose Society.
Specifically, they apply to the Black Rose Society Discord Community Server.

Mutual Respect

Black Rose Society is a safe haven for vampyres, black swans and any individuals who are interested in our topics and are sympathetic to us. In Black Rose Society, we want to foster a feeling of genuine community, a place of meeting based on mutual respect. While everyone has their own worldview, for the purposes of maintaining a conducive environment for genuine interaction and the exchange of ideas it is vital to respect other members and their unique identities, even if you don’t like or agree with them.

In a group as diverse as Black Rose Society, with members coming from many different places and backgrounds, misunderstandings about what constitutes respectful or proper behaviour can happen. We appeal to everyone’s capacity for mutual respect to deal with any individual disagreements that may arise in a discrete manner instead of getting into an escalated argument. Mediation can be provided when necessary.

Harassment

Black Rose Society deals with a complex and diverse range of subjects, and welcomes people from an equally complex and diverse range of backgrounds, identities, orientations, ideas, philosophies and experiences.
Any personal insults, attacks or threats, or any behaviour that might reasonably be considered a form of harassment will not be tolerated in Black Rose Society. Making another member feel unsafe or uncomfortable due to unwanted sexual advances or unwanted sexual comments, or due to unwanted, hateful or disparaging comments in relation to their race, ethnicity, colour of skin, caste, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, disease or occupation, is never OK.

Blood-Drinking 

As part of Vampyre Identity and Vampyre Culture (subculture of vampire-identified people), we discuss the legal practice of consensual blood-drinking between adults, which can involve cutting oneself or the partner for the purposes of drawing blood to consume. We inform or otherwise make accessible resources to raise awareness about potential health risks and possible legal ramifications associated with this practice, as well as ways to practice consensual blood-drinking between adults in a more responsible and more informed manner, emphasizing the private – behind closed doors – nature of the practice as an expression of intimacy between consenting adults. We explicitly distance ourselves from any acts of blood-drinking or blood-letting that involve and/or in any way abuse unconsenting persons, minors or animals.

Self-harming Behaviour

Black Rose Society does not condone or endorse behaviour that could be reasonably categorized as self-harm within the context of Vampyre Identity and Vampyre Culture (subculture of vampire-identified people). Specifically, we do not encourage acts of so-called ‘auto-vampirism’, meaning hurting or cutting oneself for the purposes of consuming one’s own blood. We do not recognize self-harming behaviour as an expression or part of Vampyre Identity or Vampyre Culture (subculture of vampire-identified people).

Animal Cruelty

Black Rose Society does not condone or endorse the inhumane treatment of animals for the purpose of sourcing blood for consumption within the context of Vampyre Identity and Vampyre Culture (subculture of vampire-identified people) under any circumstances. Animal abuse and animal cruelty are not an expression or part of Vampyre Identity or Vampyre Culture we recognize, and will not be tolerated.

Media

Black Rose Society has no interest in media attention. We appeal to our members to politely ignore any requests by journalists or media workers on the basis of preventing any exploitative, sensationalist or otherwise damaging media portrayals of Vampyre Identity and Vampyre Culture (subculture of vampire-identified people).

Politics

Black Rose Society respectfully asks you to leave your political affiliations at the door. Our Community is not the place to engage in political discussion of any kind or to discuss political events. Any attempts to intentionally circumvent this policy will not be tolerated.

Confidentiality

Black Rose Society prohibits the disclosure of personal information about other members, either directly or indirectly, without their permission – including, but not limited to, gender, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, ethnicity, national origin, religion, occupation and real-world location. Except for the purpose of reporting abuse or any violation of policies of Black Rose Society, the remote monitoring, posting or sharing of conversations without a participant’s consent are prohibited. Black Rose Society will not publish or otherwise disseminate your personal data.
